NAPPY DAY LIGHT SAVINGS

So today our Horsie didn't wear a nappy all day at school...
(as I say that- I can hear those angels sounds/music you hear "the hallelujah moment" Oprah talks about)
Nappies cost an absolute fortune  - about R2.83 for us...for each one...(which we have spent for the last 5 years, 6 months)
So it is NOT just the cost we must be thankful in terms of savings...

But an even bigger victory for my Horsie is a - not so soaked bottom...
He is 5...
Not 2...but 5...so its high time this boy of ours gets to experience the freedom of jocks and willy airing...
Less itchy scratchy bums and skin drying!!!

We have had huge bowel battles, dysbiosis, aweful toileting habits...which includes the bum itchies...
So when I got some news from school today, it was not of the "oh he was happy and ran around" variety but of the "HEY he spent the day without NAPPIES variety!!!"

Cue the Angel voices and songs again...

I CANNOT WAIT til my 33 kg boy can TELL US (by hand signal, by grunt or even by his own physical self) that he needs the potty!

It is on my bucket list (I mean shouldnt it be on everyone's?)

We have more progress... so the first day at school and the afternoon at home with no nappy...

SMACKS OF WINE CHING CHING TIME!!!!!

CONGRATS my HORSIE

YOU are leaping...

Cant wait for more!

IN THE POTTY!!!!!!

1 YEAR TODAY!!!!!!

With such awe and happiness, I can say my blog...yes MY BLOG is 1 YEARS old TODAY/TONIGHT...

I began this blog to document our lives through the eyes of my babies, through Horsie and Ladybug and their interactions!

They are 3 and 5 years old respectively, and today as if they knew I would write about them, they PLAYED, and PLAYED and PLAYED TOGETHER...
Ok albeit with a little more reluctance from Horsie than from ladybug...but he participated.

SHE IS SOOOO in LOVE with her big brother, the kisses couldn't be held back, she kissed him at Delta park, she lay on his lap in the car, he played with her mouth (horrified?? don't be - that is his way), she even followed him around like his own personal puppy slave, she tickled him on the couch he giggled back, she kissed and loved him in the bath all the while he "ALLOWED" her into his special space (his domain) and he smiled, and "chatted back."

THIS IS the interaction I have wanted...and this is truely amazing to see, and so beautiful and special. Ladybug doesn't (I think) quite understand how unique brother is...and she can get frustrated when he "DOESN'T/CANT" play, but one thing is for sure, they are playing and KNOWING each other!!!

Now for a boy with Autism this is RARE, this is almost unheard of, what a superb amazing achievement...

So as an anniversary gift to myself as I write this blog entry...I AM watching the HORSIE GALLOP into his own...(for me it may mean a slower version - as everything I do needs to be quick and fantastic), watch him become more of himself, and Ladybug is fluttering her wings and bringing with her, her own gorgeous little smile, dance, song and love with her, helping Horsie fully appreciate and enjoy life.

What a privilege to apart of this...watch this...absorb this..
And feel these things for these two amazing souls...

The began writing a blog to help me - for it to be cathartic - to remind myself of the small little jumps we make every day with Horsie, and to watch how the Ladybug interacts with him and PLAYS...

It is definitely worth it...

and Now I really do believe ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE...albeit not in MY TIME LINE...but in our creator, in our Horsie and Ladybug, and in watching the simple small steps evolve and unpack, sometimes unexpectedly, making those moments even more special and unbelievable!

I love hearing from all of you who contribute regularly...
Thank you for all your support always!

Cheers to this past year!
So grateful and thankful for you blessed people in our lives.
For being our cheerleaders...for being apart of our family.

**YELLOW**

Our Angel teacher who has a BIRTHDAY on Monday came with GREAT WORD NEWS today...

horsie was sitting with her, with a friend playing with some toys of sorts, blue, red and yellow ones, and these words were being repeated...within ear shot of our Horsie...

And all of a sudden he turned to his teacher and smiled, and said...

Y E L L O W

our angel couldn't believe her ears, and asked him to say Yellow again, of course our Horsie only does things when HE wants to do things, so he JUST giggled at her...

and went about his giggly self way...

PLEASE LORD may the words come galloping out...

and keep trotting easily off his tongue, and be directive speech with purpose!!!

First Mamma
Then mom come
Now Yellow....

Nice early birthday gift for our sweet Aila!

HOOORAAAAAH my HORSIE!!!!!!!

P.S. My ladybug is blossoming, spreading her wings which has been helped by her teachers and school (TRINITY HOUSE) our other Angels. Thank you God for these blessings!!!

happy babies + Happy Mommy = BLISS
